Edison Morning Show for Friday, May 29, 2020
Posted 5/29/20

Hello Edison Families,

Good morning, and here is the link to the Edison Morning Show for Friday, May 29, 2020 (the last day of school!):

As mentioned, we have just closed the Edison Otters Virtual Food Drive for the Alameda County Community Food Bank, and we have donated over $5,200! Because the food bank is able to use every dollar for $7 worth of food, this translates to about $35,000 worth of food they can buy for the community.  Thank you for the wonderful response, and we are and so glad that we are able to give the food bank support at this overwhelming time for them.  And a particular thank you to Kate Rome for her coordination of this event!

Thank you for your great participation in our Edison End of Year Extravaganza this week! Here's a few things about it mentioned in today's show:

1) Each day this week, we highlight a couple of grade levels or classes. Today, the focus is on our 5th grade promoting class, as well as our friends in Ms. Sonnthal's class!  Thank you to the teachers and parents that helped put these together, as they are such a great way to highlight our students!  Check out these links!:

2) Today's theme day is OTTER WEAR, or wear your RED and BLUE!

Show off your Edison wear like you know how to do,
or just dress up in our school colors of Red and Blue!

3)  There's still today to Show your Spirit at Home! Dress up a window, front porch or yard of your home with Edison Spirit! Use drawings, paintings or pictures of otters or other topics, make signs that show and tell how “Edison School is Everywhere!”  Here are a couple more examples, from Jeb in Ms. Geritz's class and Ms. Shiber and her daughter (an Edison alumni!)...thank you all!:

Thanks, have an otter this world last day of school...and happy summer vacation!
